Chiropractor:  Louise Marshman MSc (Chiro), D.C.

Louise MarshmanLouise graduated top of her year from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth in 2004.  She gained a first class honours in her Bachelor’s degree and a distinction in her Master’s degree.  Louise’s achievements were acknowledged by the British Chiropractic Association and she received an award for outstanding academic achievements. Prior to her chiropractic training, she also completed a BSc (Hons) degree in Physical Education & Sports Science at Loughborough University, where again she excelled and gained a first class honours degree.

Louise is qualified in myofascial dry needling, which is a medical form of acupuncture.  This technique allows her to use acupuncture needles to help reduce muscle spasm and is very popular among her patients.  Acupuncture is recommended by NICE (the advisory body to the NHS) as a modality that can be considered in the treatment of back pain.  She also has a particular interest in treating headaches, particularly migraines and headaches arising from the neck.  It was as a sufferer herself that Louise first found Chiropractic and its benefit in the prevention of migraines. Louise works at the clinic three days a week, offering early morning treatment sessions.

Louise’s hobbies include tennis and badminton.  In tennis she has represented Yorkshire for over 30 years and was a national junior doubles champion.  She currently plays competitively for Yorkshire, York Tennis Club and for Selby Drax badminton club.

 


 Chiropractor: Andrew Marshman MSc (Chiro), D.C.

Andrew MarshmanAndrew is a 2001 graduate from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth, gaining both his Bachelors and Masters degrees. Andrew has since accumulated a wealth of experience in the management and treatment of back pain working at Chiropractic clinics in Dorset, Somerset and Yorkshire. Andrew originates from Brecon in South Wales but after marrying Louise, who is from East Yorkshire, has settled in the area.

Andrew has a keen interest in sport, gaining a BSc (Hons) in Physical Education & Sports Science at the world renowned Loughborough University. He captained the Welsh Cross Country team as a junior athlete and currently plays squash for Selby in the York and District Squash League.

It was through his participation in sport that Andrew developed an interest in Chiropractic. During his teens he used Chiropractic to treat any injuries that he developed and to maximise his sporting performance. Although his original interest stemmed from his sporting participation, it is general practice and helping local people that has given Andrew the most satisfaction over the years.

 


Chiropractor: Amn Sahota MChiro, D.C.

amnAmn Sahota has been a valuable member of the clinical team since 2012.  Amn trained for five years and graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 2010, with a Master’s degree in Chiropractic.  She has previously worked at a multidisciplinary clinic in Manchester before relocating back to her home county Yorkshire.

In her spare time, Amn likes to keep fit through taekwondo, jogging and going to the gym.  In 2013 and 2014 she competed in the Taekwondo National Championships gaining bronze medals.  Amn practices at the clinic four days a week, including late evenings and Saturday mornings.

 

 

 

 


Sports Massage Therapist: Campbell Watt VTCT Level 4

Campbell WattCampbell began training as a Sports Massage Therapist at Selby College. He qualified and enjoyed a work placement at Middlesbrough Football Club. In the 2012/13 season Campbell was Leeds United Football Club’s masseur and since then has been working privately. In addition to his massage background Campbell is also an advanced Kinesio Taping practitioner and is qualified in advanced tool assisted massage.

Amongst his wide variety of clients, Campbell has worked with some high profile international footballers and athletes from varying backgrounds.  He was selected as the sports massage therapist for the Tonga and New Zealand rugby teams in the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Away from work Campbell is an active fundraiser. He rowed the Channel in 2006 for Cancer Research and completed a 54 mile Channel row in the summer of 2014 with a team from Leeds United for a melanoma skin cancer charity. Campbell was a national karate champion in 2000 and in 2006 won the nationals at indoor rowing.

Acupuncturist:  Jazmin Warden BSc (Hons), MBAcC

Acupuncturejazminphoto-248Jazmin graduated with an honours degree in Traditional Chinese Medical Acupuncture from the Northern College of Acupuncture in York in 2011. Since qualifying she has done post graduate training in fertility, musculoskeletal pain and auricular therapy (ear acupuncture).  Jazmin is currently undergoing training in paediatric acupuncture.

Jazmin is registered with the British Acupuncture Council, the UK’s largest regulatory body for practitioners of Traditional Acupuncture.

In her spare time, Jazmin enjoys being active outdoors with her children, reading and loves cooking.

Podiatrist: Sallie O’Connell BSc (Hons) Podiatry HCPC & SOCAP

Sallie OConnell SelbySallie graduated with an honours degree in Podiatry from the University of Huddersfield in 2000. She worked within the NHS at Leeds General Infirmary and St James’ Hospital working in high risk diabetic and vascular clinics.

Since having her children, Sallie works privately and is based at Selby Podiatry Centre.  Sallie can provide routine foot care including treatment of corns and callus, nail surgery and biomechanical assessments with provision of insoles. Sallie’s special interests include musculoskeletal podiatry, paediatric biomechanics and diabetes.

In her spare time, Sallie is an active fundraiser for Cancer Research UK and Group B Strep Support (GBSS) charities. She runs in the 5k Race for Life events and recently completed the 10k Total Warrior event in the Lake District.

Pregnancy Massage Therapist/Medical Herbalist: Michaela Scott BSc (Hons)

Michaela Scott Massage TherapistMichaela has 16 years experience as a massage therapist and has specialist training in pregnancy massage. Her particular interest in supporting women through pregnancy and birth lead to her training as a birth doula and she is a recognised member of Doula UK (www.doula.org.uk). A doula supports women and their families during pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood.

Michaela is also a qualified medical herbalist and graduated from the University of Wales in 2008. Her 4 year BSc (Hons) degree course covered training in general medicine as well as herbal medicine. This was supplemented by additional clinical training at the Universities of East London, Middlesex and Westminster and a Clinical Examination course at The British School of Osteopathy. She is a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH).

In her spare time Michaela is a keen gardener. She also likes to keep fit by playing netball and jogging.
